How do you know if something's wrong with you? There were some red-light songs (I think) amongst the songs I've downloaded this past week:
Britney Spears - Hit Me Baby One More Time
Shania Twain - Men Are Like Shoes
The Carpenters - Why Do Birds Suddenly Appear
Ricky Martin - La Copa De La Vida
It's a weird bug I tell you, and it's attacking me for no reason at all!
Well besides that, I realise I haven't really been blogging much and that's probably partially because when I feel like blogging, it's usually around the weekend, or so... but I'm never around during the weekend anymore nowadays! I think I've been going back to Osaka Gaidai (to sleep over at my cute high-tension junior aka Adeline's place) for maybe 4 weekends straight? 3? Anyway, every weekend I'm going there, hauling my HD over so we can exchange anime/songs etc and plainly speaking, it's just so much more interesting there- hahah, as remote an area Gaidai is. You should go read her blogposts-- go go go, the recent posts are so funny I can't stop laughing reading them even though I've been told the story or had actually been there those few times. Especially that one post where she wrote about the dead bird almost falling in her coffee and two policemen suddenly appearing by her door while her speakers were blaring Madonna's Vogue or summat... sounds interesting, no? ^_^ In any case... read it o(^v^)o
Last weekend was a little bit more special/peculiar? Usually I'd stay over Adeline's Sat and Sun night but I was there from Friday as well... so technically for me, it was a very looong almost-holiday-like weekend. I had rashes though. Now I have absolutely no idea how I came to have them but it itched like *unspeakable-word*. I put lotion on, thinking maybe it was coming up because the weather had suddenly turned dry and my skin was crying out for moisturiser or something, but it only barely worked. At one point I just put ice on (not directly, bound with a towel) and just pressed it all over the red splotches, I have them still, even now, but they don't itch as much anymore. I'm still blank... I wonder if it was an allergic reaction to something...
I spent one night in the apartment after coming back from Gaidai, but I was mostly just putting together my new cabinet/shelf (I ordered from Amazon - man I LOVE Amazon) And it was brought here in parts... so out came my screwdriver (I knew it was going to be good for something) and I put it all together that night. Well, technically I had two cabinets/shelves and I only put together one of them. -_-; Slept like a baby that night.
The next day I went and hopped on the train to Nara - it was a 2 hr and a bit journey, I was to stay over at my friend's house (a Japanese girl from Uni) and after some delays, pretty close misses, and almost none of getting lost (so proud of me! ehehe) I arrived at the designated station... met Kyoko (this girl is fantastic I tell you, she's not like most Japanese girls I know) went over to her house and o.m.g her mum looks SO YOUNG! I stopped, stared and nearly spluttered out my question- "Are you her mother??" and she just GIGGLED! Oh man her mum is just so cute! *laughs in disbelief*
She'd asked me earlier if there was anything special that I wanted to see in Nara and I told her I wanted to see a typical Japanese High School. I hadn't thought that normal people wouldn't usually ask to see such a thing... and to want to see it just for it's architecture (and not the students) too... ahahahha... I admit it would be pretty weird I guess for other people to want to do such a thing but it just struck me... so with a little pleading- there we went!
We went to visit her old elementary school and her old high school. It was unexpectedly difficult to enter the elementary school, but what with the current conditions, something caused by a murder incident a few years back when a trespasser entered the school and stabbed one of the younger boys. The man got sentenced to death, which I think was passed 2 years ago, but I have to re-check this detail again. But anyway, since then, they've been really careful about protecting the kids and stuff.... But lucky for me, we got to go it and I got to see the place... it was very interesting. I mean... you can really see some culture-based differences infiltrating to the architecture of the building (even though it really just was a plain looking box-shaped school building from the outside). I mean... well... I just can't explain the feeling that I got when I went through those halls.
Later that afternoon was her old High School which wasn't exactly what I wanted (a typical High School) but it was interesting anyway. I met some of her teachers, they were all so nice and talked a lot. They all tried to speak English (and they were relatively good!).
After that, we had karaoke! Oh man I am so addicted to karaoke now. I went again today and I'm planning to go again on Sunday night! Uhoh...... Anyway, I'm digressing. Kyoko is SO GOOD at singing! I mean, as a Japanese singing Japanese songs and then attempting to do Britney Spear's Oops I Did It Again and Avril Lavigne's Complicated... she was guuuuuuuuuud! We've also developed a sort-of hypothesis during this karaoke session. The way one uses one's internal organs to since Japanese songs and English songs might be different! Hahahahahaha it sounds weird but the more we sang the more we noticed (even though it would be a song we'd have a lot of confidence in) there was still something un about how the song would turn out. Oh but I fell in love with this song called UkiFune by Go!Go!7188 because of her. I have to say that she sings better than the real singer herself. But the song itself is already really nice as it is. If you can find it listen to it!
On the topic of songs, there's another one I'm just really hooked on right now, it's one of the songs from the anime, Evangelion, called Tamashii no Rufuran and it's just... unspeakably fantastic. The first stanza begins with "Watashi ni kaerinasai..." which means "return to me..." Anyway, you can check for lyrics by just typing in the song name and searching animelyrics.com if you want to know. ...I digressed again -_-;
After karaoke the family took me too a korean restaurant and people. I'm in love. I'm convinced I've plopped myself over to the wrong part of the oriental map. I should have gone to Korea..... the food is so gooooood. Of course, this restaurant is in Japan and therefore the taste of the food has been toned down and sweeted a little to suit Japanese tastes... and yet it was that good. So the real thing MUST be better! My mouth is watering just thinking of it...
Before going to sleep that night, I even went in an ofuro (you know, the japanese-style bath tub) Not that I haven't ever been in one before, but it's been such a long time and it felt soooo goooood.... Then, doing what girls do during sleepovers, we had girl-talk until we fell asleep. Hahahahahah... it's nice to know girl-talk is at least similar in this side of the globe.
The next day we didn't do much. Woke up, watched a little TV, her mum made me soumen is was soooo delicious! Over lunch the dad came back and me and the parents had a loooong talk about Brunei and politics (egad! even adult-talk is similar in this part of the globe) and stuff like that. I really liked talking to them (except that the dad talks a little too fast and I'm always slow on catching up or misunderstanding hahahah ^_^;)
So I went back to Osaka from Nara on the way back home in Kobe and guess what happens? The train stops. And not just that, it stops in the middle of nowhere for a whole hour. Why? Well, most people were saying, oh, this happens from time to time. Looks like someone commited suicide or something. WHAT! was my reaction, but they all were like it wasn't too much out of place or something... anyway. Tried to weasel a direct answer from the station worker but they were very tight-lipped about it. Then I tried to find a taxi so I could go to the next nearest functional trainstation, but that idea went out the window pretty soon since everyone was thinking of the same thing. That whole incident put a damper on my day.
And then- I was back home. My room. My messy but homey room. I didn't realise that I missed sleeping in it so much! I should sleep more in my room. It's been unslept in for so long. I slept in it yesterday night right after I finisehd putting together my second cabinet/shelf, but I still feel like there's something missing. ...
Phew... I haven't put up this long a post in so long have I? Well. If you got bored somewhere... don't mention it hahahahaha.
