Not through violence, but through the word alone

My eyes are burning

And I don't know why. I haven't been looking at screens so much lately. It's just that every time I wake up, my eyes feel dry and I'm not sure how. Maybe I need to start seriously thinking about getting that air moisturiser-machine (what do you actually call it?).

So. My exams start next week and I've been super busy. (Sorry for not calling home recently!) I don't know if this is good or bad but I started reading this japanese novel last week and got so hooked that I kind of left a lot of things for later. I've already finished that novel so I'm no longer in any danger but I'm still wondering what made me so driven to read that novel.

In any case. I haven't been feeling too well lately. There was a little hail in Kobe last week and the days just keep getting colder and colder. I need to send out my wool clothes out for dry cleaning before I use them though. I'm trying to walk more outdoors (besides my regular grocery trips and walking to school everyday) and hope it'll help with my health more. The colder it gets, the less I usually go out, and the more I get ill. That's what usually happens every January. So far so good this year. Beside my New Year's cold, I haven't gotten sick much at all.

And, I've finally signed up at the gym! Registration fees were free until January 15th so I signed up early! (Though, I'll only actually start on February the 1st) There's something to do during the coming holidays. Not that I won't be busy enough will my school trips.

I basically will have 2 trips in February. One unofficial group trip for the people in my Seminar to Himeji (one hour from Kobe by JR新快速 I think) and one more in the last week of February, an official trip to Tokyo (apparently funded by the University). I'll probably post some more details afterwards.

Right now, I have to run again. I have a presentation next period (most likely my last for this semester! Yay!)

Throwing garbage out at dawn.

I slept at 2am last night. It was partially because I didn't realise that my clock was dead... (=_=;) palui...hahahaha... Anyway it was my own fault. Then I had to wake up at half past 6 to throw out the trash that was piling up. (They have pretty strict rules here about trash - besides separating everything, we can only take some out on certain days between 5am and 8am... which explains what I was doing up at 6.30.) Let me tell you this- 6.30am in Winter is the same as midnight! I cannot believe how I managed to wake myself up and go out of my warm warm warm futon to go into the dead of the cold cold night just to take out the trash. Well... it was trash. I didn't want to wait any longer to throw it out else the apartment'd start to stink. Ew.

In any case, the reason I slept so late was because I watched this movie... I have no idea what the English title would be but it might be "Crash". The setting was Los Angeles. Lots of anger. Lots of stereotypes. Surprising appearance of Ryan Phillipe. I forgot how to spell his name. Anyway, this movie kind of underlines what I'm studying in one of my seminars nowadays - about Postmodern Geographies. I didn't like this movie in the beginning because there was just so much hate spinning around it was twisting my head every which way but it all sort of worked out for me in the end and I'm glad I watched all of it.

I'm trying so hard to polish my English again... I mean I'm teaching English to people of all ages now but my own is starting to... ... rot. Anyway. I have to run to my next class.

Catch you guys later.
