I have only 2 classes conducted in English. Only 2. So exactly how did I manage to flood myself with homework from those classes?
It's been so long since I've sat in a class and am able to stay awake... moreover I was able to understand what the teacher was talking about 100% ... It all began when I started being extremely curious over these weird triangle markings put next to the seminars conducted for my faculty... I thought, well, since those credits aren't required to graduate I could probably just ignore them... BUT it seemed everybody was taking at least one... Until now even I still don't know if they are necessary, but I still don't want to be left behind. So, following what everyone else did, I took 2 of these seminars, with 2 different teachers... only, since I got a pretty good number of credits for my previous semester I decided to treat myself and so took the classes that are in English.
So now here's the sitch. Would one really call it 'treating oneself' when one thinks it is going to be enjoyable however heavy the course work would be? ... And the reading material given is no child's play! Prof. Heimlich's class is like... Sociology+Literature in MD with the combined load of reading material, but in order to accomodate the japanese students in class, it's conducted in half the speed. ... Which in theory should be good for me since then I'd be able to keep up... BUT! ... Well maybe it's because I'm out of practise, I don't know. I personally don't think that I'm keeping up very well. Anyway the class is centred on American Studies. Cool, no?
My other seminar is on Irish Studies. The teacher's name is Mr. Kelly (which is supposed to mean Warrior in Gaelic, also the 3rd most powerful class in the old Celtic society after the Royal Family, and the Druids/Poets) Coolness. I mean seriously, this class is so cool, it's below freezing point. The only bad point about this class is the same as the one I mentioned before: the amount of reading material. I swear, my mind is going to explode soon. Maybe I'm just not reading the material right. I tried note-taking while reading and I did swallow the information better... but anyway.
HomeworkHomeworkHomework... which reminds me I still have some more French homework to do. AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! I'm so glad I almost never have any plans at all on weekends nowadays except for the occasional sleepover in Gaidai... which I will not be doing this weekend since my friend stayed over last night (in fact she's still here) and tomorrow I'm going to Nara for some walk-a-thon with Aurelie and the whole of an English class (private institution) ...I have yet to figure out exactly how many people will be attending. The whole point IS for them to mingle and try to speak English with foreigners (whom they don't have to fear since we do understand Japanese too). Well, I hope it turned out well.
Banzai! Hehehehe I love today's weather. Clear skies and cool winds with just enough warmth from the sun.
Not through violence, but through the word alone
