Countdown - 58 days

Sorry Ali - I just couldn't resist ^^ "Rice isn't the staple of Japan," he says seriously. We'd just let Fae down at her place and he was about to send me home - his sister was in the car too. I laugh a little incredulously, wondering if it was just another one of his jokes. But he's really serious about his statement. So I protest, saying that it was (the staple food of Japan). They have rice every meal, and obviously, one of the most famous Japanese foods is sushi - which just about anybody would know is mostly made of rice.

"So what," I asked, "do you think is the staple food of Japan?"

Funnily enough - he answered, "Sushi."

Yes, readers, according to Ali, sushi is the staple food of Japan.

--That was one of the funniest moments I have ever encountered in my life -LoL. ...Well, in any case. 58 days left. This isn't going to be a daily countdown, by the way. I just wanted to note this incident down before I forget it.

EDIT: SO IT'S LESS CONFUSING, AT THAT TIME WE WERE TALKING ABOUT CULTURE SHOCK IN JAPAN, AND THE BOY WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN (MAYBE TO HIMSELF) THE EXTENT TO WHICH JAPAN IS DIFFERENT FROM BRUNEI. ^^

Countdown - 60 days left

This is just a test-post. I'd thought to try some stuff out before I actually do my first blog-post in Japan. Yup. For those that don't know yet - I'll be leaving to study in Japan in the first week of April (most probably April 1st), and if you've figured it out from the title, it's 60 days from today. That's in about 9 weeks - or in other words, 2 months.

It doesn't sound long, does it? I've still got quite a bit to pack (I already have my suitcases but dad seems to think that I'd need a new one with a better handle to help me carry it ^^;), and some last things I need to do whilst I'm still in Brunei. Go here for my LJ blog - I update there much more often (well, at least, for now).

Anyways, I'm off. Things to do, people to kill. You know. Life.

PS Oh, did I mention that I'll be studying there for 5 years? ^^; I'm going to miss Brunei. My family. My friends. But most of all - I'm going to miss being a kid. ...Bye-bye Naj. Hel-lo adult.
